While India's USP is the 'Unity in Diversity', country's well-known play schools are increasingly focusing on multiculturalism. A slew of multicultural practices helps toddlers to learn the differences and similarities of traditions, rituals and beliefs among all communities. And play schools make sure children are taught to accept and respect such differences and similarities. In fact, multiculturalism emphasizes sharing of many cultures.

Hence, leading pre-schools in Kolkata like Genius Kids adopts various methods of cultural practices that teach "Everyone is welcome".  Pediatricians too often advise parents to celebrate birthdays and various festivals to bring joy among kids as happiness nourishes brain development. Taking a cue from this, kids at reputed daycare like Genius Kids are encouraged to celebrate New Year of different communities such as Poila Baisakh of Bengali, GudiPadwa of Marathi, Thapna of Marwari, Yugadi of the people of Karanataka and Andhra Pradesh. With such multicultural programmes, children get the opportunity to explore different and unique traditions and customs. They are able to share some common traits as well.

Like Genius Kids, most of the leading play schools arrange food festivals in the school premise asking students coming from different communities to bring foods from home and sell it or share it among friends. With this, toddlers get accustomed to different food of different communities. Usually, children are curious to know about what their friends are doing at home. At Genius Kids, teachers capitalize such interest of toddlers. Children are shown fascinating pictures of his or her friends, of their homes and bedrooms and pictures of various festive decorations. Teachers then, explain the differences and similarities of such pictures shown. Kids are asked to try out hands-on collaborative project so that children can realize other cultures.

Genius Kids playgroup which is among the front-runners of recognized daycare tells the stories of Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and other national heroes. Alongside, play schools like Genius Kids make kids familiar with stories of global heroes like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and other important leaders from around the world. Listening and reading of stories of challenges the global and national heroes have overcome not only influences children but also helps them to know about other countries.

Multiculturalism makes kids attentive to other's practices, viewpoints and individuality. It builds up a culture of cooperation. Not only students, classroom teachers at Genius Kids daycare or Genius Kids playschool are encouraged to know about diverse cultures. Teachers take time to study the backgrounds of students on their beliefs, foods and customs so that they can deliver the best.
